Planwise, concept aims to help working professionals plan, organise, and utilise their free time effectively for learning and personal growth.

Problem Indentified

  • Working professionals want to advance in their career, look for better roles and high paying jobs. Learning, skilling up and building projects are crucial to achieve them.

  • But, due to the demands of busy work life schedule it is hard to focus on them.

  • Weekdays are mostly unusable for learning as professionals have to travel to office and spend time in work. Their focus then shifts to weekends which lengthens the learning process.

  • They keep on waiting for weekends which extends their timeline from weeks to months to a year and before they know it, a lot of time has passed and they are behind schedule.

  • This is a problem which i have faced and observed among my colleagues.

Explanation of the problem

  • A full time job takes a huge chunk of time from a weekday for a working professional. Out of the 24 hours , 7-8 hours are used up in sleeping , 10 - 11 hours are spent in job and travelling. So the maximum time a professional gets is around 5 - 4 hours of learning and skilling up in a weekday which is again reduced by other activities needing his attention.

  • Not getting continuous long hours at learning and skilling up also reduces the gains he/she makes in weekends.

Observations

  • The first time user experience is poor in these apps and there is a slight learning curve.

  • Lacking goal setting and planning features. (Ability to create goals and sub-goals over a period of months.)

  • Lack of goal tracking feature.

Features included in the Application

  • Goal setting and tracking (This feature is essential for planning our long-term learning goals. For working professionals, it takes a considerable amount of time to learn something new that will help them transition into a new job role. This could involve a professional moving from an IT job to a role in data science or AI/ML. Tracking feature will help the professional to stay alert and follow his plan).

  • Pomodoro (This feature helps to maintain focus for short bursts of time. Hence, it will help to fight distractions and procrastinations).

  • To-do lists (This feature is required for day planning. Assigning daily tasks helps to track and complete them).

  • Notes (Learning is accompanied by keeping notes. It is also needed to jot down quick ideas which pop in out heads).
